Women’s Squads

We train and race in a variety of boat types, from eights to single sculls. Rowers are also able to arrange their own outings in singles, doubles and crew boats outside of key training times.  To row in single sculls independently you need to pass the club proficiency test.

Seniors

Our Senior Women’s squad has grown considerably over the last few years. Our aims are to boat some serious crews in the winter Head races, compete at the major quality regattas leading up to Henley Women’s and the British Championships, but also to make sure that everyone gets plenty of opportunities to race at their own level, with success, and have fun along the way.

Masters

Rowers over the age 27 are able to compete in British Rowing ‘Masters’ categories. We aim to support masters rowers to train at a level that matches their skill and ambition.

We take part in many competitions in the South East of England and beyond, with specific focus on major Masters’ events: Veteran Fours Head, Veterans’ Head of the River Race, as well as British Rowing Masters Championships.  We also aim to enter crews Henley Masters Regatta and the European and World Masters Championships.

We take training seriously and expect squad members to commit to training, particularly in the lead up to key races.  However, we also acknowledge that some rowers cannot commit to a full training schedule due to busy work or family lives.  We therefore aim to support all rowers to have a positive experience of rowing and achieve their personal, as well as squad, goals.

There are four scheduled training days per week: two weekday evenings which usually consist of training in the gym or on the rowing machine, and Saturday and Sunday mornings on the water. When light permits we will use midweek sessions for additional training on the water.

We are always looking to welcome new members, so if you are interested in masters rowing, please get in touch.
